Chilling at Chilling River

there was once three brave young men on a mission to find the best waterfall in malaysia.
these pictures records their journey.

the journey started in zuls aqua blue car.

but on the way, we got lost due to the retarded google maps that made us drive in circles

finally, we found the entrance. along the way there were no signs, no indications at all where this place was. all we had were our intuition and several pix off the internet. we looked for clues in the pictures for the location of the entrance. the northern three-tiered fern suggested the entrance was somewhere on the border of Selangor and Pahang. possibly on route to Frasiers Hill.

we signed the guestbook, paid for the restroom fee, peed a little, then we can finally embark on the journey in the woods.

first step in the woods. zul uses his mid-air floating skill to dodge the acidic puddle.

then down the rabbit hole we go. we had to use a shrinking magic potion in order to fit in the hole. cost us +3 dmg but we had no other choice.

a sign showing the fourth river crossing. apparently we walked through a portal that skipped 3 previous river crossings. lucky us!

this seems pretty easy. but oh wait. zul forgot to change into his lvl 34 fiery-wetpants. he's still wearing his default skinny jeans. zOmg!!!

fuu reacted quickly and changed into his lvl 44 blossoming hibiscus petalled shorts. phew. close one, fuu!

*que final fantasy soundboard* you did it! pose enchalantly for the camera

zul was inflicted with +12 damage. he quickly uses his iphone to conjur up a healing potion. +35 hp to all in party.

but oh noes! zul messed up the potion and starts to turn into super saiya lvl 2! its over 9000!!! i guess thats actually a good thing.

feeling confident we were on the right track, fuu uses his tripod of a thousand truths to feel his way across the river of poisonous electro-fishes. luckily we didn't encounter any. or in that case, we didnt encounter any type of fish at all in this fish sanctuary~

YATTA! finally the waterfall of chillingness was found! cool~

so cool in fact that it was freezing. no wonder its called chilling river. i quickly popped out my nikon d70s and captured the modern day heroes before they get hypothermia.

suddenly we encountered forest elves playing tug-of-war with the 1000 year-old tree of azdool.

ok, this is getting way too dorky than i initially thought it would be...oh well...10 more to go

more elves! these were water elves. using a sony ericsson w950i phone to capture another water elf playing about in the water.

...there you go~

fuu took out his yeos chrysanthemum beverage to use it in the chilling water to get a +15 chilling effect.

success! chilled to perfection

zul tried the same method. but oh wait. that is my urine sample!!!

my urine gives the drinker a hypnotic illusion that they are in a perfume ad. j'adore. good thing it only has a 10 minute effect.

k...im hungry now...let me just post the rest without any stupid WOW-slash-dungeons and dragon crap. i only did all that for flux and chew. yes, YOU TWO! they just found out about this blog and i said something about stroytelling picture posts. but remembered i hadnt done that shit for a long time...

fuu and zul posing. i actually took this from a boulder situating 13 meters high up. true story.

washing of the shoes and socks.

umm...zul finally changed into his fiery shorts. cause he didnt want his car to get wet....

one flame. one flowers. headed home to eat. only had tuna sandwhich the whole day. starving. as i am now. so blaghdahladahlalalalala.....

hidup ini memang palat, tapi esok masih ada..

**this post contains spoilers to the series and movie**

before watching the movie, i downloaded all 8 episodes and watched it all in one go. what i like about KAMI is that it connects to me personally on so many emotional levels. when abu's brother died in the series, i was reminded of a same experience of a friend of mine who was killed in a similar manner. and i cried my eyes out. but when the humorous parts came out, i was giggling like a little school girl. the character abu was probably my favorite. using humor as a self-defense mechanism sounds all too familiar. and when he died at the end of the movie, i felt like sobbing right there and then. with just 8 short episodes and a movie, i felt connected with this character and to lose him left me empty and incomplete.

a memorable scene from the series where abu and ali met with lynn for the first time. lynn, one of the three malay chicks in this movie that dont really look malay. well lynn sorta looks like a malay but also kinda looks indonesian as well. adii looks a little chinese. and sophie...(sigh) sophie looks mat salleh. maybe since her real name is juliana evans.

attractive cast? check. engaging storyline? check. exemplary tales to guide you in your own life? check! what doesn't this movie have? oh, a little something called a 35mm camera. the only downfall, for me, of the movie was the fact that it looked like they shot the entire movie using a handheld HD camera. which made it look amateurish. but me being a fan of B (and sometimes C) slasher/gore flicks, i was kinda used to it.

when i started watching the series around episode 2 or 3, i KNEW i had to write a review of the movie. i sensed that this was something special. although other people might not have the same experience as i did watching KAMI, they should give it a try and not think that this is just another malay movie. but make sure you watch the series first. and i think one of the smaller characters in the series is a former Form 5 classmate of mine. ok, i dont think, i know. his name is in the credits. just another thing that made me relate to this series/movie. i rate this movie 5 stars on a scale from 1 to 5. one star for each character.

*i'll post raya pix tomorrow or friday. and some other randoms...

continuum hypothesis

came back from dinner last night and watched BBC Four's documentary about 20th century mathematicians. i wasnt sure exactly what i was watching since i was half asleep throughout the whole thing but one concept stuck in my head till this morning. georg cantor, a german mathematician, came up with this theory about infinity and does it exist? if you think about infinity, it never ends. and even if you can come up with the highest number possible you can think of, you can still add 1 and it will be that number +1. but between the digits 1 and 2 (or any number actually), there are decimals and fractions. so between 1 and 2 there might be 1.5 or 1.7 or 1.79982 and so on. but if you take that decimal further, you can still add another digit at the end of that and it could go on forever, like 1.79982937434564562343454354554656... thus making it infinite. it can literally go on infinitely. but is it really infinite when at the end of that infinite, there is that 2. there is an actual end to that infinite. or is there?
i dont know~ im just a designer. my shallow mind cannot comprehend theoretical mathematics. i cant even do my own design work correctly much less cantor's mathematics. for instance, i should be doing my final year project right now. and what am i doing? watching british documentaries on suicidal mathematicians and blogging about it on xanga.

on a different note, im trying to find time to edit shitloads of pictures of weddings, trips, and ooey gooey random goodness. and oh ya, happy ramadhan.

hola!
< cliche > its been a long time since ive updated < /cliche >
went on a couple of trips...moved to a new place...bla bla bla...
i intended to post random pix  and some pictures from various trips but havent had the time to edit those
but i did hav time to watch a chick flick last night titled "27 dresses"
procrastinating work and had no other movies to watch...
as i do with every movie i watch, i logged on imdb after watching it and read the forums there
one of them gave me the lulz as it was true:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0988595/board/nest/107395695
if you hav a copy of the movie on dvd (or torrented it),  watch out for these two scenes and check out the terrible extras in the movie.

LOL!
